So I was going to get the 360 on the day it came out, but it got sold out. I was a little dissappointed. But then all my friends told me the 360 was a let down and I should wait for the PS3 or at least until better games come out? So what do you guys think? I could use the money to upgrade my comp if the 360 is crap.

Don't personally have a xbox360 but I have played the demos.
I wouldn't call it a let down and I'm not totally convinced that it's the best thing since sliced bread either. I was impressed with the console and I think better games are close behind the launch titles. I just don't get the crowd that thinks that the PS3 is going to be so much better. I haven't even seen any videos of playable games from the PS3. I would be willing to bet that the PS3 doesn't launch until Xmas 2006 at the earliest. You think that Xbox360 had launch problems, just wait for Sony to attempt to launch a new console that includes a new type of disc(Blu-ray) and a much more difficult system to develop games for. It's going to be much worse than the launch of the Xbox360 IMO.
Exactly right Bohefus.
For others reading this thread let me tell you that the PS3 most likely will not come out on the release date which they have scheduled for these reasons:
1. Sony has just been playing around with the chips making the system change and this causes the system to run differently and as well they also might have just stuffed it up in doing so ie. Bugs or errors.
2. Sony has decided to use Blu-Ray, Blu-Ray being a different format of disc altogether making the games they pu on their different to the ones on PS2 so they cant follow over the programs which makes it so they have to make entirely new programs for the game to run on.
And lastly 3. When has sony ever told the truth I bet all the specs that have been released are a little but on the imagenary side.
Get a 360. I've got one and it rocks. The Xbox 360, despite what is said on these boards, enjoyed a great launch. Less than 3% of the systems have been defective, which is normal for electronic hardware. There really aren't a lot of overheating issues when you consider hundreds of thousands of 360's were purchased. You hear about the few 360's that have problems, you DON'T hear about the far greater number that work just fine. I won a 360 from Mountain Dew and mine works perfectly. PGR 3 runs smooth as butter and looks unbelievable on an HDTV. Even on a SD TV it still looks fabulous. Kameo is UNBELIEVABLE on my SD TV. I have yet to play it on an HDTV, but it still looks wonderful. The thing that blows me away about Kameo is when you have thousands upon thousands of trolls on a mountainside fighting your knights and Kameo runs thru them on horseback sending them flying every which way. This is not a prerendered cutscene; this is all real time and the detail on every troll is amazing. Now, I'm sure some 360 games will suck just like some Playstation 3 games will suck, but I see no reason to wait for a PS3. Blu Ray is no big deal. It's just a bigger disc; that's it. It will be great to watch HD DVD's on the PS3, but as far as games go, a developer can just include a second disc. It's a small inconveniance to change a disc once or twice during the course of a game.
I wish, i am hoping to get one eventually. But this is what i mean it looks awesome on my 32inch standard tv set on 60hz. I have seen screenshots and videos of the 360 working on HDTV and yes it gives a superior picture quality and looks great but they are expensive and in my opinion ( although i want one ) they are not essential they just add to the splendour.
it's not the defective system thing that i was talking about. I know the chances of getting defective system is really slim. The 'let down' I was talking about was the games, now obviously there will be some really great games somewhere down the line, but right now. There were really no good games I read about, the reviews in mags I read wansn't all that great either, and my friends tell me they're subpar. So what do you guys think now?
