I backed my copy up easily with CloneDVD 2 & AnyDVD. Piece of Cake!Movie only backed up with Perfect results. Took about 30 minutes all together, Start to Finish. Very HIGH QUALITY playback results too!
Use The Best Media for The Best Burns! TYs, Verbs,(Made in Taiwan) Sony MIJs (YUDEN000 T02), Sony Made in Taiwan DVD+R 16x, Maxell MIJ, RITEK G05.

@timberlou
Where is your problem happening? During ripping or burning? Which program are you using? Nothing special on this disc - I used AnyDVD and clone

what everyone here seems to have overlooked is the fact that the media timberlou used, and i quote, Quote: jvc dvd + and booktyping to dvd-rom
is far from being "good" any way u flip it~ :)
JVC DVD+R 4.7GB WFKA11..211 8x (GOOD LORD, i'm not even going to start with THIS media ID code, most people have never even seen this before i can imagine, BUT, i have~ :) this is terrible quality stuff...i will not say anything else...it's simply horrific, worse than CMC MAG for those in the "know")
i am only "assuming" that you are using the 8x speed timberlou, if you are using the 4x, than more than likely it will be made by Prodisc, while "better," it's still not considered "good quality" :)
i would suggest changing you media and trying again, you obviously have SOME sort of handle on the whole burning process if you say you can already booktype to dvd-rom...this one i am going to say is a "media issue", not burning related (freezing that you stated you are experiencing) :)
good luck, "great media" is in my sig. if you want some suggestions...

Hey docTY!
Tks for the input. Now that I re read the post I guess they are talking about playback and not the 'backup' process. So yep you are again right on the $ !!

@timberlou
What kind of drive do you have, does it support bitsetting/booktyping. If you are having problems in playback then look to your media, and get some better quality disks. As suggested try Sony, Fuji, Maxell or Verbatim which are all retail and always on sale. Taiyo Yuden are available on line from
http://www.supermediastore.com http://www.rima.com http://www.meritline.com http://www.newegg.com
Make sure the firmware on that burner is up to date and try burning at 4x if you are using subpar media.

Whichever program you prefer, it is all personal preference in what you like. Just remember to use the Lite-on utility to booktype before you start your program up.

which liteon burner exactly do you have? please give the model number and i will double check on the firmware for ya~ :)
2ndly, simply downloading the Liteon booktype utility does NOT put it into effect, you must download, then install, then RUN the program PRIOR to your burn on DVD+R media for the actual "booktyping" to take place...also, another alternative would be to use DVD Decrypter to booktype (since you are already using this program in your backup processes)...since you have a liteon drive, PRIOR to the burn, go to "Tools"---->"drive"====>"change Booktype"===>choose the "Lite-on" tab===>under the "change for" dropdown box, choose the appropriate setting- most likely it will be for "drive (For dvd+r/+r DL media)"---it will show what the current setting is, make sure you go to "new setting" and change to dvd-rom. click "change" and make sure dvd decrpter gives u a "success" popup..then ok..and ur ready to burn~ :)
lastly, unfortunately again, the MIT (made in taiwan) fuji discs are not that good, but def. better than the jvc's you were using before...so you are on the right track, if you want the "cream of the crop" try some genuine Taiyo Yudens from the aforementioned online retailers arniebear linked you to, you will not be disappointed. :)

good good..assuming you order online from a REPUTABLE online merchant, there is NO need to look or check since ALL GENUINE Taiyo Yudens are ONLY made in Japan :)
that takes the "guesswork" out of purchasing the MIT or MIJ spindles locally~ :)
good luck~ i'm glad you got the booktype thing sorted, happy burning...
