Xbox 360 and future of PC's question

I'm a big Adobe After Effects guru and I'm sitting here looking at my Xbox 360 and it's three dual core processors and wishing Bill Gates would manufacture a dedicated PC with that kind of power. Right now PC's are designed to run every piece of software out there and are made of individual components from different manufacturers that drive up it's price and stifle growth. The Xbox 360 was made en masse for one purpose and Microsoft gets to dictate every piece of the architecture and how games must be written to go with the architecture; not the other way around. I know the economics behind the 360 and consoles are millions of people are going to buy millions of games. There aren't that many people who use high end software to do their job. I'm just thinking wouldn't it be great to finally have a PC that could run After Effects and other high end intensive programs like these consoles are running these games.
