Ok, here is my problem that I'm having.I'm trying to convert all my commercial VHS tapes to DVD.I have successfully Backed up my Commercial VHS tape to DVD but I only have one channel Audio through one stereo speaker and I want to get atleast 2 channel audio if possible.I am using a capture card that I got for 50 bucks and a mini plug Y adapter from radio shack to combine left and right RCA audio jacks into my line-in on my sound card but all I get is one speaker audio. Is this the best that you can get sound wise or is it possible to get 2 channel audio?

Is it crap or is it memorex?

If the Y adapter is stereo micro, then you should be getting two channels.
If it's not, or it's not plugged in all the way, you'll only get one.
Give it a shove.

Black holes are where God divided by zero...

If your original vhs tapes are mono (single channel) then you're able to create stero sound (two chqnnels). The only thing that you can do is to use both channels, but with the same audio (pseudo stereo) by mixin the two channels. This can be done very easely by short circuiting both signals with commom ground between the output of the vhs to the video adapter card that you' re using. If you cannot find this in the market of your area you can do it very easely by your self. You'll gonna need 1 soldering gun (with tiny nose - for electroniocs-), 3 feets of stereo cable, 1 stereo minijack for your adapter, 2 rca jacks for the vhs and of course the soldering material (5 inches is more than enough)
