Modding LEDs into a Gamecube controller - Help!

I'm looking to add a couple LEDs to my Gamecube controller to flash with the rumble. I've done this before with a PS2 controller a long time ago and I'm not an engineer, so I have a limited understanding on circuits. I wasn't sure if this was the correct forum to ask in but, if anyone out there can help, I'll need it. I have a Super Smash Brothers Melee tournament tomorrow and I'm looking to show off a bit. :D

I'm guessing the easiest way would be to run the LEDs in series with the motor(s).

My advice, if your a highschool student, just goto your electronics teacher and ask for his/her help. It would be fast and more reliable then most help here.

I guess I should justufy my answer, huh?

Basically, LEDs don't have much resistance and aren't going to drop huge amounts of voltage, so running them in series with the motor won't do much to the motor's performance. This is assuming there aren't more than a few LEDs and that they are installed properly in terms of polarity. Keep in mind that the more LEDs there are that the motor will be getting less voltage, giving you a less powerful rumble. I suggest that if you want multiple LEDs, that you run the LEDs in parallel.

I don't feel like looking up actual values and tearing my own controller apart to give you proper readings, but my idea should work fine.
