I want to make a video file of a clip on the special feature of a DVD I have. Is this possible? The format doesn't matter but I'd prefer it to be quicktime. I understand when you rip a DVD you get a bunch of VOB files, how can I tell which is the special feature or is there an easier way?

Hi,

You can use DVD Shrink in reauthor mode to rip just the special features. 2 ways you can go about this:

1. You can rip directly from the dvd using shrink in re-author mode (with AnyDVD running in the background if it has copy protection) and you will have something like main movie, then the special features will most likely be all the other files. Next you will have the language options. To see which are the special features drag any file other than main movie to the left and there is a small screen in which you can preview to see you have the right one.

2. Rip the dvd to your hard drive using DVD Decrypter then run through shrink (please note ripping to your hard drive 1st sometimes gives you a better rip in turn giving you a decent file/ VOB to work with) in re-author mode and apply the same method as I stated above.

P.S. Nero recode2 will do this as well but as I don't use it often you can reference the link i provided as well as the link in my sig.
