I have recently purchased DVDXPlatinum and Video Vault. I can get the Video Vault to work but not the DVDXPlatinum. I have sent numerous emails to XSoftware the company I purchased it from and get no responses.
When I use DVDXPlatinum I will get the error that the CCS copy protection keeps me from copying, not the exact wording of course, even though I am using DVD43. Has anyone had any problem like this with the software. Also has anyone had resonses from XSoftware with problems like this. It is very frustrating when they take your money and then do not offer the support they promised.

I would errors such as: "error selecting Movie-TitleSet!" "Error Selecting VMG-Titleset!".
I finally got in contact with someone from X Software and they sent me a newer version of DVDXPlatinum, version 3.0.0.1. It works fine now.

First off did you talk to some in Canada ???
Cause that is where their customer service is atleast that is where I got when I called.
Also if you go to the website http://www.dvdxsoftware.com/
you should get the support right from them.
Plus you should also be getting the latest versions there too.
I know cause I have both programs, but when I came here. I found that there were two program for free here that did the same.
DVD Decrypter, DVDShrink.

I went to the DVD X Software site when I tried getting help and for some reason it took a week before I started getting help respones. The version of DVDXPplatinum I was given is 3.0.0.1, which is newer than what is shown at the web site, and it works perfectly. I like this better than the Video Vault because I can use both DVD drives for reading and burning and it automatically shuts off the screen saver. I don't think it is the same people even thought it appears the same, except it doesn't come with a ripper and DVD X Copy Platinum is being offered as version 5.0 now by an international company.

No this is a different company, all my software came from China. Which is why I thought I got had when it took so long to get to me.
But you do need a copy right removal program to use this. Unlike the program from 321studios. They just used a play on the name so that everyone would get them mixed up with the original.

All I know is that since I've gotten the newer version I have had no problem with making backups of my DVD's. I am currently using a copy of AnyDVD with my software, when the trial period is up I am going to try the newer version of DVD43 and then decide if I will stay with that or purchase a copy of AnyDVD. Anyone have any ideas of which one is better?

Hi,

I will definitely say AnyDVD is better than DVD43. The software is updated frequently and as new movies comes out within a week they have an update that can work on that particular dvd. DVD43 is freeware and updates nowhere close to the rate of AnyDVD. Once you purchase AnyDVD you get lifetime updates for free.

to burn or not to burn that is the question

Does anyone know if the registration key you get with AnyDVD can be used more than once? I typically reformat my HD 2 to 3 times a year, more if I get hit with a virus or worm, and reload all my software.
