I'm trying to make a backup of my super troopers dvd movie, its in pretty bad condition. It has a bad sector that DVD Decrypter won't pass, i retryed several times. So i tried to rip disc with ISO buster and it had same problem at the same area but went through the second retry. Now i have the video_ts folder with the vob files etc.. I couldn't figure out how to open that in Decrypter so i used a prog called Classic_0.91.6 to make an iso image of it and mounted in a virtual drive. Then ran decrypter but it won't run it. If i try to play the iso in windvd it says wrong region. Can someone tell me what i can do to make a backup of this disc? I still have the VIDEO_TS folder i sucessfully ripped with ISO buster, now i need to some how use decrypter on it. Once i can do that i can use dvd shrink to burn it. Thanks in advance for any help.

If you already have the video in dvd compliant format (i.e. video_ts folder), then you can burn to dvd directly with e.g. Nero.

Thanks for responding but i think i got it. I reripped using decrypter and just skipped over the bad sector then just copied that VOB file from my previous iso buster rip. Seemed to work fine. I didn't think about doing what you said because i figured i needed to decrypt the protection first before burning, but i'm pretty new to all this. I know i couldn't play the movie from the files i had ripped using iso buster, so i just thought it was still protected. So if this ever happens again i'll try what you suggested, thanks!

well i guess i spoke too soon, on the dvdr the menus and extras work but the movie is messed up, guess the protection is still there. So i don't think burning the files i ripped with iso buster with nero will work. Any other ideas or programs i can use? I'm pretty sure theres an easy method to do this since i did successfully extract the entire dvd with iso buster, i'm just new to all this.
EDIT - Got it to work with DVDFAB Decrypter!

Hi,
I am having trouble with DVD Decryptor. First, I was using DVD Shrink to burn the DVD and ran into the "CRC error" during analyzing. Then, I was told to use DVD Decryptor to analyze the DVD and then use the DVD Shrink to burn the DVD. I try this and the analyze with DVD Decryptor is fine and when using DVD Shrink to burn the DVD, it complaints that the VIDEO_TS.IFO files are missing.
HELP.!!
Thank you
Mike

@ LightSS,
Glad that it finally worked!
@ ahar429,
Did you use Decrypter to rip the dvd to harddisk? Also, is it a DVD-5 or DVD-9?

Hi, I found out how. After testing a couple of times, the mode has to be set as File and all the *.IFO and *.VOB files will be extracted to the hardrive and then able to use DVD Shrink to burn the DVD.
Thank you for all the quick responses.

Good to know. Also, if you're burning DVD-5, you can use Decrypter all the way. Just use 'iso-read' mode to rip to hardisk as iso, and 'iso-write' mode to burn to dvd.
Happy DVD burning!
