hi,

i've encountered some problems with avi2dvd while converting to dvd. there seems nothing to found under the "audiostream" field after the movie file is selected. some of movies are xvid's. don't recall that i have any divx's. any suggestions? i've already tried to convert, but just took 1 second and it's having trouble because i didn't choose any audiostream.

pils.

Open the AVI file with VirtualDubMod and do Stream__Stream List. Which audio type does it have? Keep in mind that you can extract (demux) any strange audio stream type and, if you can convert it in a more suitable format (WAV, CBR MP3) with any audio encoder (HeadAC3he, BeSweet...), you can substitute it in that AVI, making , in VirtualDubMod, Stream__Stream List, Disable the old sound, Add the new one.
After that, set 'Video___Direct Steram Copy' and, in a few minutes, you'll create a new AVI wile with your new, and more suitable, audio.

um....I don't really remember at this moment for I'm @ work now. I think it's something like mpeg-layer 3. Another one is MP3, I think. Not sure. Will find out exactly when I get home. Btw, is VirtualDubMod going to work. I also have had problems using that program to convert. This time around it cannot even open the movie file. Any suggestions on that?

Try to work without audiospace (if there are any option to make avi2dvd work only on the video), then we'll work on the audio, later.

I think that will be impossible for it doesn't even allow me to do so because there's no audio input. How should I do this? Or is there another way?

You can add an audio to that movie. If you open it with VirtualDubMod and do Stream__Stream List, what do you see?

Ok...when I trying to open the movie (and in this case "Harold and Kumar") I get a window and the text in it reads as follows: "Virtualdub has detected an improper VBR audio encoding in the sourve AVI file and will rewrite the audio header with standard CBR values during processing for better compatibility. This may introduce up to 117799 ms of skew from the video stream. If this is unacceptable, decompress the *entire* audio stream to an uncompressed WAV file and recompress witha constant bitrate encoder. (bitrate: 131.4 +- [should be on top of each other] 19.8kbs)"
The AVICodec info is as follows:
File : 699 MB (699 MB), duration: 1:23:33, type: AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 53 %
Video : 621 MB, 1039 Kbps, 25.0 fps, 576*416 (4:3), XVID = XVID Mpeg-4, Supported
Audio : 78 MB, 131 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x55 = MPEG Layer-3, Supported

Should I just click ok? Btw, meant to attach an image file here, but seems like i must upload it to a website first. How do I do that? Anyhow, what do you suggest @ this stage.

For another movie, Scary Movie 3, I got "WARNING: NOHTING TO OUTPUT" and then on the line below it "BFRAME DECODER LAG"
And the info:
File : 706 MB (706 MB), duration: 1:24:09, type: AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 52 %
Video : 629 MB, 1046 Kbps, 23.976 fps, 640*352 (16:9), XVID = XVID Mpeg-4, Supported
Audio : 77 MB, 128 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x55 = MPEG Layer-3, Supported

The version of the VirtualDub...does it play a role? Anyhow, I have both 1.5.10.2 and the 1.6.11
