my drive motor won't spin in my V9 PS2

I have a PS2 V9, i recently adjusted the lens (something i do like every month), and after putting it back together, the cd won't spin. the lens is reading the cd and when i apply pressure to the moror i feel it vibrating like it wants to spin but nothing. The motro spins freely when i turn it which means that it is not jammed. I am totally puzzled.

Help me please

You probably need a new PS2 DVD Drive Spindle. I have a version 9 and mines got damaged. See if the pins on the ribbon are damaged. There are three ribbons with blue tips that connect to your motherboard. It's the biggest blue ribbon tip. This ribbon connects to the disc spinner (spindle).

thanks smaxj, it seems you were right, at the part where the ribbon wire bends to go under to the side of the motherboard, there was a break. When i tested for continuity they all seemed to be broken and only work when i move them to centain points.

I repaired the wire and now my PS2 is back up again
