I don't know where you are located, but after trying several different makes on SonyDRU500AX I have never had a coaster (yet!) using Princo (better for video) or Optowrite (made by Philips I think). Can't fault the Princo's for quality and price.

Princo media varies greatly from batch to batch. Some of it is really good, others really really bad. Luck of the draw. Hence the reason I don't recommend them. Most of the media with the fake TDK lead-in is from Princo, and is almost always garbage. What does that tell you about Princo's quality control?

I have used princo's and they SUCK!

Stay away from them, they are a hit & miss & that is for backing up movies only, forget about backing up a PS2 they will NOT work. I've tried everything & they don't, if they do (sometimes) they only work for a while & then freeze 5 min into the game (PS2).

I use Ritek's on the other hand & have only one coaster out of 75 PS2 games backed up. NO coasters on any movie backed up yet.

Cheers

yea i tried princo on my PS2... and ppl r right... they varie batch to batch... i was "lucky" and got the crappy batch... i suggest Ritek or Universal. it's a little more $ than Princo, but who would spend a little more for something that actually "works".
Riteks r ez to find.. but the 2 sites that i know has Universal are: www.buy-dvd-r.com and www.dvd-supply.com ...
