backups with softmod?

ive had my softmodded xbox for a little while now mainly using it for programming, but soemone gave me 2 discs the other day on dvd-r with some arcade roms on, i thought id put em in my pc to copy them across on ftp but my pc drive wouldnt read it, so i thought id try it in the xbox and hey presto it booted straight up off the box, no hardware modification whatsoever. is this normal? can i play my backups using nothing but a softmoded box with evox dash?

yes you can play backup games with a softmodded Xbox.
