hexitnow, is there any downgrader that you would recommend to use before upgrading with winstaller? seems like every tutorial I find is for TA-082 (which I don't have) :( does anyone have a link to non ta-082 downgrader tutorial. or maybe you can use devhook to emulate 1.50, then use winstaller?
-can you install custom firmware straight from 2.71 original (not 2.71SE)?
just making sure i have everything right heh.

Hi,
Thanx for taking the time to read this...I could really use your help wasted my whole day trying to figure this out. My PSP started at Version 2.6 which I upgraded to 2.71 then to 1.5. I then put GTA:LCS on my memory card with fastloader and everything was going perfectly. I played the game for a bit and was happy. I then decided to upgrade to 3.03OE-C and again everything went smoothly and GTA was running fine. Next I decided to upgrade to 3.10OE-a and well everything seemed to run fine but when I tried to run the one ISO i had...GTA:LCS it would start and then the screen would go black and that was it. I then went back to 3.03OE-C but i had the same problem even with that version. I have been trying like crazy to get back to 1.5 and have not had any success in doing it...I am totally lost at this point. UMD discs seem to be running fine. Don't know if my PSP bricked or what happened but:
1. I can't get back to 1.5
2. I can't run GTA: LCS it keeps crashing on me.
Please help thanx for your patience and time.

why did you upgraded from 3.03 OE-C to 3.10 OE? is it preferable to do this?

I thought it would be better I thought the screen on my PSP would look more like Hex's signature thought 3.10 might have more stuff in it.

Ok I was able to get back to 1.50...but this makes no sense...I installed fastloader .7 and I still can't get GTA:LCS to work...I even upgraded back up to 3.03OE-C and I am still getting the problem with GTA:LCS starting at first and then crashing. I don't understand it, cuz this was all working this morning when I tried it all out for the first time under the same circumstances...ie first with Fastloader and then on 3.03OE-C. Please Help Hex...waiting on a response from ya.

This would be the dumbest ques. ever asked. so people plz don't laugh.
What does PSX games stand for? are they different from PS2 games? If so, can PS2 games be played on 3.03 oe-c? and if yes is it the same way i play PSX games, just put them on PSP/GAMES folder.
Thank!

Fastloader is not the right loader, it was meant for older games. Custom firmware or devhook will be your best bet. U just have to make sure to have a UMD in and No-UMD Disabled.

a folder with eboot.pbp and keys.bin is a PSX game for PSP. Put those two files into a folder and drop it to PSP\GAME and you should see it in the XMB.

U might want to try sticking those two folders into GAME150 folder tho. I have a feeling your GAME folder isn't set to the proper kernel.

Sorry I don't know much about that APP as I have never used it. About the only thing I can think of from basic knowledge of how things work is check your configuration files to make sure it has right IP to connect to. And check port forwarding if that is necessary. Sometimes you will have to port forward for LAN based connections, although most of the time it's not necessary.

A strange thing happend after upgrading to 3.03oec. My umd stop reading
my games and movies. Everything else work fine. It just spins for a few sec. and then dies. Could this have something to do with the upgrade? Will it help to go to 3.10a? The no umd is dissabled. Thanks for any feedback.

hey hex,
i had around 20 small parts downloaded for GTA, when i extracted the 1st , i got a another large file with .iso extension but it is still a WinRAR file. now when i double click on it, it has 2 things under it - PSP_GAME folder(it contains multiple folders in it) and UMD-DATA.BIN is this a PSX game? how do i play this? just keep the large WinRAR file with the iso extension in the ISO folder?
thanks!

the update shouldn't have caused that. it could be because of some settings you have
@vineet
yes the large WinRAR file with the .iso extension is an ISO. WinRAR recognizes ISO's as compressed archives and consequently places it's icon's over them. I just changed mine to make it a lil easier to distinguish from the rest of the crap I have on my PC.

2. if I insert a new MS on my psp and just format it, will the folders be created automatically?
3. as i have 4GB MS, can i put multiplte isos and PSX games on it and play whichever i like?

Used it before and forgot to leave feedback. Great installers.
