IOO and IOI file extensions from DVD decrypter

I was trying to back up a couple of PS2 games. I've had success in the past. What ended up happening was I had two files that were not recognized by DVD decrypter. One had a IOO file extension and the other was IOI, or something like that. Basically it looks like it split the files.
I've gone through the settings and made sure everything is as it should be. I even tried to back up a game that I had previously backed up with no problems and had the same thing happen.
The IOI file is about 4 gigs, the other file is what is left.
Any one have this problem before?...any clue as to what I am doing wrong?

Yes. There is an MDS file present. But, these other two files are not recognized by DVD Decrypter.

Just burn the .MDS file if you are using DVD Decrypter. The reason why you have two files after you backup your copy into your hard drive becausae your hard drive is FAT32 system [or similar]. Check your hard drive of what Filing System you have.
For FAT32 system, everytime you have a file more than 4 gigs, the computer would split the files. As for NTFS file, there is no splitting up the files [and in order to switch over from FAT32 system to NTFS, you got to format your computer].

I wondered if that was the problem. The strange thing is I have already backed up a couple of games that were larger than 4 gigs.
The problem with the MDS file is it is extremely small. When you burn the image, you get the actual MDS file and not the back up image.
I actually tried to convert from FAT 32 to NTFS. The problem I am running into is that my hard drive is partitioned. I tried doing it last night and it said it would convert it upon the next start up, but it didn't.
Any suggestions.

don't burn the .mds file as data. The mds file acts like a pointer or .cue file of sorts and tells decrypter what files to burn, how to burn them and that's why it's small. So, when you go to load up the image in decrypter choose the .mds file (where other times you would choose a .iso file).

I've actually done that. I used the MDS file as the source file from where decrypter is to read. What ends up being burned is the MDS file, not the actual back up image.
What am I doing wrong?

that's really weird... have you tried any other burning apps? I'd suggest using recordnow max, It'll also make 2 split files but will make a .gi file and the .gi file would act like your .cue file with that app. Recordnow max might even have a "copy disc" option so you would only click on that and then insert your original and after it's done reading that you insert your blank and it burns it without having to mess with the .gi file or making an image.

you meant you chose the .mds as the source to read for write right?

Correct. I chose the MDS file as the source when writing.
I guess maybe I'll check out the recordnow Max. Maybe that will work. I probably need to figure out how to convert my file system from FAT 32.

click mode-iso-write
BURN THE .MDS FILE
The image WILL be burnt
The only reason i can see that it wouldn't work is if you messed with the other files.

Maybe you should try rereading the disc to your computer. Ive burnt hundreds of mds files, and every time it burns the image for me.
