I tried to burning 2 mpg files with vso.. everything completed successfully.. and I could play the dvd on my computer.. but when I tried on the dvd player it gave me an error saying it couldn't play.

I also tried putting it in my ps2, and it says.. "TV system doesn't match."

I also opened the files that it converted with dvdshrink, and tried running it through there..encoding+burning with nero.. but the same thing.

does anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

(on the tv format tab.. video standard, & tv screen is set to automatic.)

"copy to dvd"

the burn DVD program on vso DivXtoDVD ? or another program ?

I used the burn dvd program that's on vso DivXtoDVD.. and I also tried opening the encoded files with DVD Shrink, and running it through that and burned with Nero.

divx to dvd would of encoded the files to mpeg2 which is the compatible format for dvds.I'd be surprised if you couldnt play them on your pc.

i dont utilise copy to dvd but prefer to use Nero recode.Never ever had a problem using this program to burn them.

Can you produce the Nero log for us to see.

Got to go to work beback later

hm.. I read a few threads and I changed the video standard from automatic to NTSC.. and it's playing fine now with the mpg files I burned..

however.. I tried burning 2 avi files, and it's playing fine.

but the sound is about 5-6 seconds behind the video.

the original files were fine. any suggestions?

edit: nm, I figured it out.

hooray!

right now I'm using something to convert AVI to mpg.. and then running it through vso.. at least that will be one less step for AVI files.
