I bought a network adapter yesterday and installed it, nothing to it, that I can see would cause any harm just two screws hold it on the back, but tonight when I went to turn on my PS2 for some on-line gaming when I hit the eject button the tray poped out just a SMALL tad maybe the amount of two pennys stancked on each other and then the PS2 just gave up the ghost on me. I thought it had just some how been unpluged but after checking everything and switching off and back on nothing works, even tried a different plug-end. Anyone know a simple fix? Power switch out maybe or is it time for this bad boy to go to the shop? You guys are always very helpful and I know this is a very hard question that most likly can't be answered without looking at the system but I though maybe someone had a simple answer for me, if not then thank you anyway.

are we to assume you tried unplugging the network adapter and turning it on without the adapter?

Yes I tried that also, sorry about not saying so in the first post. i tried every simple solution I could think of. I think it is dead. Might have to go to the shop with this one but I don't know what caused it I am running all my electronics on a surge protector.
