Hi all. Ive been trying to back up some video footage i shot onto dvd to play back on my home dvd player, rather then just watching it on computer.

Problem is, it wont play on my dvd player! When i open windows media player to view it it plays fine, even with the interactive dvd menu.
But when putting it into a fairly new dvd player, the player just says "reading" for a while then stops reading because created dvd movie seems to be unreadable.
I have made other dvd movies which do play on this same dvd player, though sometimes with audio out of sych a second or two from video.

I though it was this new dvd-r discs made by Verbatim i just bought on sale for like $14 for a 50pack spindle that maybe are junk, so reburned this same 3.7GB .iso image to memorex to same result - plays back on computer fine, but not on dvd player.

I dont know how to fix.

Im using windows xp pro, sp2, 7GB free on 80GB harddrive.

Thanks. Yes, I have been doing that - burning at slowest speed 4X, but still same problems.
I even tried instead of making dvd version to make a VCD version, and even that did not work. After a long time of "reading" the disc, the dvd player finally showed the main menu page which shows the windows of the video file. IT could only fit one video though, being a VCD on a cd instead of larger dvd.
But when i tried to select the window to play the video it did not even recognize it as such. Would not even highlight it, and would not play it.

Im getting close to giving up with the realization that DVD technology and especially home dvd creation with currently available software and hardware is just total CRA*. And its only being sold now because these corporations and individuals selling these products with overblown, false and deceitful propagando about how easy it is to make home dvds with their software or computer hardwaredont dont care as much about the people buying them or integrity, honesty & honestly effective & quality products as they do simply getting away with scamming and theiving hardearend money from you & I the public consumers.

Well I can tell you that I have over 1000 Movies that I burned to DVD and all of them Play Just Fine and all were quite easy to make but I took the Time to Figure out the best Method for me....

Why not explain what software you used and what Method you use to create this DVD and then Maybe I can tell you what the problem might be or I might be able to tell you a Better way of Doing it....

You also might want to take the DVD you Burned to a Electronix Store to see if the disk will play on other DVD Players as Not all DVD Players are created equal...
