What brand/model dvd-writer are you using Neromania ? I've tried Khypermedia dvd-r's for the first time and they appeared okay from the first 5/pk that I purshased, after that I've burned nothing but coasters with them ( I'm returning the rest ). The only brand that I've had reasonable success with are Ritek. I'm a little skeptical about trusting other so called cheap dvd-r's. They may be cheap, but if all you can burn are coasters, then they are more expensive than top end blanks IMHO. I'll give these meritling a whirl.

Sony DRU500A. I bought a 50 spindle of 1X Optodisc -RW for $52 from Supermedia.com. 90% burned without a problem. And the coasters worked fine after I erased them so 100% after all. They all play in my Tosh SD625 player. The only down side is that 1x take an hour to burn, but that aside they're better than -R 'cause you get a 2nd chance.

Maybe 2 weeks ago. It might have been a special that week but I'd buy another spindle even at $60. 1X is slow but the erasablity on a bad burn makes it worth it.

I buy from shoptech.com....I've come across no problems with optodisc dvd-r's...not a faulty 1 to date (3x50 bundles purchased) great for backing up owned movies and games. I think it's a great bang for your buck
