If you don't want your AVI files to convert into DVD, then all you need to do is burn them (your AVI files) as DATA into your DVD-R or DVD+R disc, that's it. You can probably fit at least 6 - 8 AVI movies (files) into a single 4.7GB DVD+R disc.

NOTE: keep in mind that your standalone dvd player is AVI or DivX certified, in order to play them corretly.

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.

yeah I would also use winavi and then burn them with a program like Nero. you could also use nerovision and make your own menu's and other stuff.

Basically the only prog I use for burning is NeroVisionExpress3. Most of my files are in AVI format and I DONT convert. All I do is open NVE3, drag files into NVE3 and then burn. Easy as. Once the files are in NVE3 it takes around 1 to 1.5 hours to transcode and burn, that is for a 700mb AVI file.

It all depends on your computer's specs, ram, processor, etc. Make sure you don't multi-tasks, make sure you have lots of free memory ram available as well. I can convert one AVI (full movie 700MB) roughly at anywhere from 50 mins - 60 mins (this is converting only), or depends on how many MB the movie has.

I've used both Nero Vision 4 and DivXtoDVD, I like them both equally. However, I'm using Nero Vision more and more. The choice is yours.

I am with Alkohol on this one, I like NeroVisionExpress, as I said if you have AVI files theres no need to convert. A movie around 700mb on my comp with a 2.8 processor takes around 60 to 90 minutes from start to finish, yours may take a little longer. Heres a link to NVE3 http://www.nero.com/nero6/eng/nero-up.php you will need package 2 only.
