Please help me with Magic Switch / PS2 Slim

Hi -

I have the PS2 Slimline MODEL#SCPH70012 ( Version 12? )
I bought Swap Magic 3.6 and Magic Switch ( older version )

I have installed all 3 parts of the magic switch as per
the instructions on numerous sites. The boot disks are
ok and working, but the Magic Key isn't telling the PS2
the lid is closed. I don't know why ... all 3 pieces seem
to be securley in place, but the laser isn't moving with the
lid open.

Question 1) What could be wrong here ???

Question 2) Could I just open the case and tape the 2 sensors ? if
so, is there a site or someone that can show me what to tape ?

I would rather not open the case ... but I will if I have to.

Please advise and thanks!
