MCC bad quality?

My friend bought me a 50 pack of GQ (Great Quality) dvd-r's so I can burn him some movies. Now, GQ,s are known to be bad quality discs they are really cheap you can get a 50 cake box for $10 at Frys or wherever they have them. I ran DVD identifier on the discs and they turn out to be MCC made. I know MCC is a good disc manufacturer but I burnt maybe about 30 of em and only half of them work. I dont know what is wrong is MCC starting to make bad discs or is my DVD identifier telling me the wrong information. When I found out the GQ's I had were MCC I could not believe it I had to do it a few times and even tried it on my other PC. Those GQ's are normally made by Must,CMC and rarely Prodisc but it seems like no matter who made the disc if they are GQ's they are garbage. Please help if you have any info on this. Thak you in advance to all that reply.

most of the time mcc=mitsubishi chemical corp. these are usually pretty good.
