I am a newbie in movies and i appreciate your comments on this. When i play some of the movies which are in AVI format, the sound isn't properly as it should be it is kind of slow. I have installed the DivX codec on my pc, and i use windows media player to play them. And besides that the Divx player 4.0 can't play these files...why?
thnx

Sounds very strange. Could you check the video and audio formats on the video files you have problems with? This can be done by right-clicking on the video file, choosing properties, and switching to either the summary (under Windows 2000) or the details (under Windows 98) -tab.

Did I understand correctly that this problem only occurs on some, not all, DivX -formatted videos? Have you ruled out the possibility of data corruption? Ie. could this be AVI files that have been transferred incorrectly and later repaired using e.g. DivXfix?

Hi
Yes i only have problems with some movies not the rest. I downloaded the lastest version of "Divx 4.01" and "Kristal Studio Codec", now i can watch all the movies but i have problem watching in especially Windows media player 7.1! I have also the DivXfix program and i tried to run a test on those i have problem watching but the test doesnt tell whether there is a fejl or not. When watching with Windows media player i click the properties and for some of the movies shows "Video Codec Unknown". Does all these mean that these movies have been broken and then fixed again? Should i download them again? Is there a good software which can easly detect and fix the problems?
Thnx a lot for the help
