Hey,

Does anybody else suffer lagging when playing in online mode?

Whenever I create my own match room, I get lagging in the second half and whenever I join a match room, I get lagging in the first half. So basically, whenever I'm shooting left-ways, I get lagging.

Does anyone know what the problem may be?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

Thanks for replying. My internet speed is 1MB with Tiscali.

Could this be the problem?

I dont think so, i use to use a 512KBps connection and it use to work fine, i have 8MB now so i cant have a look.
Does anyone use your internet connection while your playing? If so then this could be the problem, the connection slows down, so the PS2 has to wait until it recieves the files. Make sure the disk you are using is not scratched or damaged either, because a bad disk can cause the problem, but i doubt thats the problem in this case.

No one uses the internet while I'm playing online.

When someone does use the internet I get seriously bad lag. When no one does, I get 'good' lag where it's jerky and choppy but just a little bit, if you get what I mean.

I use a 15m ethernet cable to connect my ps2 to my router and my friend said he used to do that and it used to lag. And when he started playing in the living room (where the router is) he used a short ethernet cable and the lagging stopped, which is weird because I tried that and it still lags.

Funnily enough, I play NHL 2005 online and it doesn't lag. So I'm thinkin' what the hell is the problem? It can't be the disk because it's in an almost perfect condition.

Very weird..

If it lags on some games and not on others, it means the internet connection is not fast enough, some games require a very fast internet speed, thats why it says on most games, "game experience may change during online mode".
