I want to make video files of Family Guy DVDs.

And I have no experience with ripping DVDs on my PC. I ripped a couple onto my Mac before, using MacTheRipper, and then ffmpegX to convert them. The problem I have had when I tryed to use those programs to achieve my goal is that only the first episode on any given DVD was converted into a video file. How would you guys recomend I achieve what I want?

You can rip with DVD Decrypter in IFO Mode. Use the Stream processing tab and Demux the files (right click on a file and select "set all - Demux"). This will split the VOB file into .M2V, .AC3, & .sub. The .M2V is your Video and the AC3 is your audio. The .sub is subtitles, but I do not know what program can accept them.

I'm not fimilar with MacTheRipper but it sounds like you have a setting for something like 'movie only' checked. If that's the case on an episodic disc only the 1st episode will be ripped.
For you pc (not sure if mac compatible) use can use decrypter and shrink. Here's a guide - just use the 'full disc' option in shrink (option 2 in guide).

Since you are already a Mac user I think that DVD::rip will work on mac.
If not you cn runit under linux. The program itself along with Linux is free. I have a How-to on my web site for both.

The entire DVD, including all of the episodes, are ripped onto the computer. The problem is not that only on episode is ripped. When I try to convert the VIDEO_TS folders into a video format is where I encounter the single episode problem.

The reson that I want the episodes in video format is that I am planning on getting a Video iPod within the next month or so, and I would like to have Family Guy on there.
