Hi guys.

I'm having a problem with TMPGEnc when converting from AVI to MPG1. I am using an application called decompress.exe to decompress the sound of the file before converting it.
The problem is that TMPG is cutting out the sound halfway through the movie.
Any help or hints would be appreciated.
I'm running a wintel machin with xp service pack 1 if that helps.

Well you Can try extracting the audio from the AVI and Load the Files into TMPGEnc Seperately and encode them to Mpeg-2.....

You can extract the audio useing Virtual-Dub bu Loading the AVI Into V-Dub and going to "File" to "Save as Wav" and saveing it and then you will have a seperate audio file....

If theis problems still happens then it could be that the AVI file is Corrupted in which there is Nothing really you can Do about it...

Good luck

Ah, just to be more precise: in VirtualDub Audio menu must be set on 'Full processing Mode', or "Save WAV" will simply Demux the sound, without decompressing it. It will be an approx 150 MB file insetad of 1.2 GB, for a 2h movie.

If the extracted WAV is corrupt, try to find some 'AVI repairer' which can do the task.

I found my problem, my rig was overclocked. While the CPU tested steady as a rock, the motherboard wasn't up to it, it was corrupting the info. I have turned the rig back to standard speed and I have no more problems.
