my question is...can u take a dvd cd-rom for a computer and hook it into your dvd player and eliminate all the converting and just leave it as a data disc and play it that way??...i know someone will find fun in making fun of me on this one but o well im just curious

another question is...this is my first time trying to make a vcd i downloaded the tmpge encoder and started the encoding...it was at like 900 somethin megs at like 15 hours..i read in the forums and seen that someone was told to go to settings and do the source range thing which i did...well now the file is down to 198 megs which dont seem very logical if anyone knows what thats about or if i did something wrong id really like to know Thanks,Ken

ok its done with all the encoding and now when i try to play it in real one or windows media the timer moves but there is no sound or video but the time length is exactly how long it should be...the file is now 1.07GB someone please help me i dont know what to do now :(

To your original question, im not too sure what you meant but if what you meant was "can you hook your dvd rom to your dvd player and play divx and other such formats without having to encode them?" then the answer is no. However you can hook your computer, (if you have a tv-out connection) to your tv and watch it that way!!

In TMPGEnc I see you are trying to create a VCD, well what are you trying to create it from, divx??

the original file name off of kazaa is 8.Mile(dvdscreener)Xvid-Dvl.AVI and the copy of it is real and the quality is excellent...right now despite all the negative posts of using nero to encode im giving it a try and it will be done in a few hours..after its in a MPEG format do i just burn it when i am done encoding?

ok..ive been going at this for over 24hrs with less than 3 hrs sleep..it just got done in nero encoding for 11 hrs and now the frickin file is 19mb...and it says that it is 150 minutes long but still no sound or video..WTF!!!??? i guess i have 2 options..give up or use my computer as batting practice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
