I am unable to burn image files to cd-rw, but can burn data files, what's up?

Have a nec dvd-rw nd2500a drive and am using nero 6, cd clone, etc. I was abe to burn a data file to my cd-rw, but when I try to burn an avi, wmv, etc. they won't copy. The nero program only says it can't not burn at 10X and aborts the operation. Clone cd justs says it cannot do it. I don't have a clue what is going on.
