I'll start off by saying, I've never had a single problem with any of my consoles. (Enough to send them back to the company) Yeah I had the DRE messages with the PS2 and the Xbox but those were beareable with just reseting the console. Not even my old school NES did I ever have to send it back to Nintendo. Those were consoles of yesteryear, now we are coming to the year 2006 and things seem to have started off on the wrong foot.
I was always the kid saving money and begging uncles, aunts and grandparents for some cash, enough to buy the next console. All the last-gen consoles I have were giving to me as gifts. And I never had any problems. Last summer I started working for the big ol Activision and every check I got I put some money away for the release of the Xbox 360. I reserved it in August, at the most unlikely place. Blockbuster's Game Rush store.
I went in and paid it off and purchased one game, after trading in all my Xbox collection but a mere few that I kept. I purchased King Kong, Condemmend and PDZ. I was in awe when I saw these games on screen, they were fun..Till maybe a few weeks down the road shit hit the fan.
My Condemmend game started to act flaky and it would give me problems, I would put it in the Xbox and it would give me the THIS GAME IS MADE TO BE PLAYED ON A XBOX 360 CONSOLE crap error message. I went back to Blockbuster and got a new copy. I didn't open it for some fear I guess. PDZ needed to get beat so I popped it in and had fun with that.
I didn't get a chance to beat it for the simple fact that I had some christmas shopping to do. So I had some time with it here and there. One day I rented the newest Gauntlet game Seven Sorrows I believe and enjoyed that for a few days online with some friends on the original Xbox.
After a while I decided to go back to my PDZ and my Xbox 360 Harddrive took a dump. It did not like being in the X360 for some reason because it played fine without it. I found myself in a dilemma purchase a new HDDRIVE spend a 100 bucks or send it to Microsoft for free and wait 2 weeks to get it back. Spending my Christmas vacation playing old games on a old console and having the cousins and nephews sad because they could finally play the newest console without fighting for a piece of the action at one of the kiosks at Best Buy.
Well I called them and I get my return box tommorow.
I might get the off color white dvd drive, which in return might give me issues. I might get another system that might overheat. I might just lose my entire Xbox360 in the mail. So many factors that are hurting my head. This might just be what I get for having good luck with my consoles. Maybe this is that one time I have bad luck. All I know is that I'm rather sad about all this.
