SCART to s video connection

I have connected a SCART to s video cable beteen the rear of my pay tv set top box and the input on the 30" LSD display. Sound is ok but the picture is monochrome. Does anyone have any suggestions about the cause of the problem? Thank you

Make sure the settings on your TV are set to receive s-video. But, it's also possible that your set top box doesn't support s-video. And if that's the case you'd get a black/white image when connecting the s-video cable through the SCART connector. You may have to resort to a composite cable.

Today, S-Video signals can be transferred through SCART connections as well. However the device that has the SCART connector must support S-Video as it is not part of the original SCART standard. For instance, a VCR that has a SCART connector may not support S-Video, so if you try to connect an S-Video signal through a SCART connector you will get a black and white signal. To get color on devices that does not support S-Video, you can try to join pin 15 and 20 in the SCART-connector as described here: http://camp0s.altervista.org/sVideo/sVideo.htm.
