For the last 20 months I have used Ridata +R 4x and/or 8x dvds with TREMENDOUS sucess. However, the most recent batch of 100 4x that I purchased has given me some problems. With this last batch I am having to burn smaller ISO's to stay a little further from the edge of the disk. It took me 10 or so "coasters" to figure out that this was my problem. As long as I burn smaller than 4300 Mb I'm fine. With previous batches of the same brand of disk I could burn closer to the edge with no problem. If any one has noticed a similar problem I'd appreciate hearing so...maybe it's time I switched to a different brand of media. Thanks in advance for any comments!

been talked about briefly here:

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/255251

my Ridata Ritek discs (500+) were actually the DVD-R format, so, not exactly comparing apples to apples here...but, they were purchased over 2 years ago and i've had GREAT success with them...they still playback just fine today...and i scanned some disc quality checks in a diff. thread...too lazy to find it...

they have held up over the test of time...while they're not as good as my Taiyo Yudens, they're still very decent...

i have used VERY LITTLE of Ritek's DVD+R format, only because i have found my greatest success with Taiyo Yuden's 8x DVD+R media with the ID coding of YUDEN000T02, that's the only reason why i don't personally use the Ritek DVD+R format and am unfamiliar with it...

but, many users have had great success with Ritek's DVD+R media...here is a small taste of it in this thread :

also noted that users other than myself have had great success with the Ritek 8x DVD-R RitekG05 coding too~ :)

i'm sure others that have more experience with Ritek will be in here later...i just gave you MY own account of what i've experienced w/ Ritek.
