DVDDecrypter is still used it?s just not updated anymore. It?s still one of the best rippers and burners that you can get.. Download it from here:

http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/software.htm

You can also download DVDFabDecrypter and DVDShrink from the same site.

Here is a guide to use the new DVDFabDecrypter, which is updated but, is not a burner, along with DVDShrink and DVDDecrypter to Burn:

Cheers for that. I am there now downloading all you suggested.
Personally what programmes do you think are the best to use?
Main thing we want to do is (do I say it) copy our music and movie DVD's onto DVDR's

For movies I use:

1) DVD Shrink (Rip + Compress)
Nero (Burn)

2) DVDFab Decryptor (Rip)
DVD Shrink (Compress)
Nero (Burn)

I've never had a problem with this combo!

You could also use AnyDVD or DVD43 in conjuction with DVD Shrink.

DVDFab Decryptor will not burn or compress it's just a ripper (a very good one =)), You need to use it along with other programs.

For movies I use:

1) DVD Shrink (Rip + Compress)
Nero (Burn)

2) DVDFab Decryptor (Rip)
DVD Shrink (Compress)
Nero (Burn)

I've never had a problem with this combo!

You could do:

1) DVDFab Decryptor (Rip)
DVD Shrink (Compress)
DVD Decrypter (Burn)

2)AnyDVD or DVD43 in conjuction with DVD Shrink.

Hope this helps a little.

I?m with Deline, All I ever use for movies is DVDShrink with AnyDVD running in the background and Burn with Nero.

Other combinations work as well but that works for me so I stay with it?..

If you don?t want to buy AnyDVD then DVD43 is free any will do the same job, right now. It?s just not updated as often?

BUGGER! i followed the instruction thru all 3 programmes exactly to the letter thru the link to the manual and it did everything right up to the end when its meant to say 'Operation Sucessfully Completed"! There was no Chime from the Decrypter to say was finiashed and sucessful. All it did was go back to the start in the decrypter? What's going wrong? I cant seem to write onto a blank DVDR?
Im doing "Dirty Dancing DVD"

All help gratfully received please :-)

OK, let's analyze - What kind and brand of disc are you using?

There should have been a log in Decrypter, copy any paste it If you got it..

Sometimes poor quality disc will not burn right up to the edge. Set your DVDShrink to limit the Burn to 4300.
To identify your disc, download this:

http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/

And then read this so you can choose quality media to burn to.

There may have been a change in the media and you need to update the firmware for your DVD-RW drive. You can check for the latest firmware update here:

http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_search.php

Just do a search for your drive model and it will tell you the latest firmware version for your drive. Download it, double click on it and it should self install. It will then recognize the media.

Cheers.

@Sabeldown

Your system is FAT32 and it does not support any 4GB or over, so you'll need to convert your system into NTFS. Here's what you need to do.

To convert FAT32 to NTFS from the command prompt:

1. Open Command Prompt. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Command Prompt.

2. In the command prompt window, type: convert drive_letter: /fs:ntfs

For example, typing convert D: /fs:ntfs would format drive D: with the ntfs format. You can convert FAT or FAT32 volumes to NTFS with this command.

I'm afraid, but you still have not changed/convert your system from FAT32 into NTFS yet. Thus, DVD Decrypter is giving you the above error.

Again, here it is:

To convert FAT32 to NTFS from the command prompt:

1. Open Command Prompt. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Command Prompt.

2. In the command prompt window, type: convert drive_letter: /fs:ntfs

For example, typing convert D: /fs:ntfs would format drive D: with the ntfs format. You can convert FAT or FAT32 volumes to NTFS with this command.

So, really once you're at "command prompt", type this; convert D: /fs:ntfs (and now hit Enter, it will convert your system for you).

Did you type NTSC or NTFS? Command prompt or CMD won't recognize NTSC, that's a DVD format only. You need to type exactly NTFS or like this: convert D: /fs:ntfs

It should work, I convert my nephew and my brother's FAT32 system into NTFS and they all works. So, I don't really know why you're having problem.
