Im new to using all this DVD stuff. When i use TMPGEnc it usually take about 25 to 30 hours. Is this normal? I have a P3 1.1ghz with 256mb ram so its by all means not overall slow. Thanks
Not normal at all. Try this. Click the setting button on the main TMPGEnc window, click the advanced tab. select source range and double click source range. Click "move to start frame" and click "set start frame" click "move to end frame" and click "set end frame". That may knock off a few hours for you!
"Is this normal?" It depends on what settings you are using in TMPGenc. If you are using "Highest Quality" motion search precision and/or 2-Pass VBR than the answer is probably yes (since you are including time for the whole DVD2SVCD process.) If you are not using "Highest Quality" motion search precision and or 2-Pass VBR than it may be on the slow side.
If you are using "Highest Quality" motion search precision change it to "High Quality" you will probably barely be able to see any quality difference and it will decrease the encode time approx 3-6 hours if additionally using 2-Pass VBR. If not using 2-Pass VBR than changing from "Highest Quality" motion search precision change to "High Quality" will reduce encode time approx 1-3 hours.
yeh, i have been using highest quality with 2br thingy cause thats what the walkthrough said. i'll try it on high quality next. also, is it better to get cce cdasue its faster.
CCE SP is much faster and much better quality for SVCD (especially vbr encoded). For instance I did a 1 hour movie last night in 5 hours with it at 4 pass vbr encoding! ProCoder is also good but slow enough aswell!
well, i've put the quality to high instead of highest and it is now taking about 13-14 hours. i want to get cce sp but i cant afford to buy it as yet, will the trial version do? also, does it reck the movie by placing logos ro other stuff on it when you use it. cheers
