i have a few hundred blank memorex dvd-r and +r what should i do with them all of my movvies are on them and cd's too i have a couple hundred memorex cd's blank and all my music is on em. what should i do with this stuff seeing as i have 1200 cd's and 900 movies. i dont know if any are bad or whatever i havent come accross any really they all seem ok. well let me know i want to organize and backup everyhtin and catalog it so i need to know what to do as a noob.

i am not understanding you at all, you say that you have blank dvd -r +r, but then you say that all your movies are on them. Well, that means they are not blank. Then you say that you have blank cd's, but go on to say that your music is on those, (again that means that they are not blank). So you have no bad cd's or dvd's. All you want to know is how to backup and organize then I assume. Other than that I honestly can't make heads or tails of what you are saying.

Not all memosux is "the worst" I don't use it, but you may have gotten lucky,or unlucky to use it in the first place, but if you have had any success maybe they are fujifilm003 or something similar.
Info the disks and re-backup any cmc mag IF you can good luck

Stop using them- trash em and buy the good stuff like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim.
For the ones that you already have movies and music on id the manufacturer with this prog:
http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/
If the manufacturer id is CMC or Princo better start redoing them. If they haven't degraded yet trust me they will. Remember that just because one spindle may id as a good manufacturer like MCC or TY doesn't mean all your memorex is by the same manufacturer. They use different manufacturer's though mostly the crappy CMC.

im sayin all of the media i do have is memorex thousands burned and hundres un burned.... so i want ot know if its worth it to switch it over because of quality or whatnot or just use what i have and switch over later. i dodnt have time to check every dvd for a small crc error and see if every frame is good so is it a good chance that some of them are bad or is it just if it will burn or not that makes memorex a bad choice?

Just try and start re-burninfg them and if you run into issues first thing to look @ is cmc mag. You should identify who made them first. You are alreasdy on the path. Follow the advice here. I did and have few issues when it comes to burning and reburning. There are some real professionals here. I'm just answering so maybe it helps you sooner. Read and keep on reading. Happy Merry
