My games look messed up on the TV

Hey I did looked around in the forum to find an answer, but could find one. Her is a situation. I was in the middle of playing SSX on tour on my PS2 and my wife really nagged me hard to drop her to her mom's place so what i did is i paused the game and turned of my TV. After an half hour when i came back turned my TV on. I could see the game in really messed up. The screen was really messed up. I did turned it off, tried another game DVD, but still it is the same. Now if turn on my PS2 without and game DVD the onscreen text objects also looks really messed up.

Oh my PS2 is mod and i use the backup gmaes DVD. Pls help.

Do you have a slimline? If so, it might've overheated. Try to make sure that it is getting ventilation, and worse case scenario, put a little fan by it.

When you shut the ps2 off, does the tv screen look fine?

Also, make sure that all of the cords are secure. It's possible that one came loose.

Ya the TV screen looks fine, tried other DVD's too, they all looks the same. All the wires are secured
