I have ripped several DVD to Divx movies and am trying to play them under Win ME.NO SOUND!! I'm using a Pent.3..733Mhz, with 256M of ram and a 20G drive. I have Media Player 7.1 installed and the DirectX8.0 as well. I have installed the latest codecs but still no sound!!! Is this because ME doesn't use a DOS shell?? How can i fix this problem??

help i have made a backup copy of a dvd using
dvd to vcd with smartripper, dvd2avi and tmpgenc yippeeeeee it plays!!!!!
NO SOUND!!!!!
WHY?
dvd2avi previewed it ,but do i need to run the whole preview for its entire length?

peedoff: It depends on the audio track you chose. Look at the directory where you ripped the movie with SmartRipper -- there's one .txt file that contains stream info. Look at audio streams, first audio track listed is Track #1 in AVI.cfm" class="forum_link" target="_blank">DVD2AVI. If third audio item in the list is the one you want (AC3, English -- normally this one), select Track #3 from AVI.cfm" class="forum_link" target="_blank">DVD2AVI and follow our VCD guide otherwise to downmix it to WAV and DON'T FORGET to load the WAV with TMPGEnc as an audio source before you start encoding.
