DVDR: No sound on *some* DVD players?? (digital audio problem?)

garyjay posed a question months ago that seems to pertain to me. This DVDR I have plays perfectly except on my best dvd player, which is connected to a receiver via digital sound. On this player, it has no sound.

This DVDR was encoding using TMPGenc--is there a software setting that I am missing? Any ideas would be appreciated, as I'm stumped. :(
