i want to know how to make a dvd disc from dowloaded movie files and what program or programs i might need to do so

Your DVD burner must have come with a program to do that. The 2 that I use are Sonic myDVD (comes with the Sony burner), and Nero. It's the NeroVision component, and you do have to buy a plug-in mpeg2/DVD at Nero.com for $20. Both will take an mpg and "transcode" it to DVD format. If the mpg is an mp2, just rename it to .mpg, also, if the mpg is more than about 2 1/2 gig it won't fit, 'cause transcoding almost doubles the size. Also, it can take hours to transcode.
