Faulty Ripping of Copy Protected DVDs

Alright, I'm new to this DVD ripping stuff, but I have a good idea of what I'm doing. The other day I ripped the DVD "Serenity" by copying the DVD files onto my harddrive and encoding using Xilisoft DVD Ripper and xvid codec turning it into a 1.4gb AVI. The movie ripped perfectly, excelent video, excelent sound, no problems. I then inserted the Matrix and tried that using the same settings. First off it wouldn't copy directly, so I used DVD Decryptor and made an ISO of it and proceded to rip with Xilisoft. The movie played fine until I got to a part that suddenly repeated the last 5 seconds of the section I just watched, this happened about 4 more times through out the film. Upon closer inspection, I found the ISO had a problem, so I made another, that one also failed. I tried ANYDVD and did a direct rip of the DVD with the same problems.


My question is, what am I doing wrong? The ripping software seems to work fine, the codec seems to work fine, is it just that this movie cannot be ripped? (The DVD has NO scratches)

Hi, I would suggest that you read the guide in my signature for using DVDdecrypter and DVDShrink.

Then I would download DVDFab decrypter and use this guide:

You can also get DVD43 there as well.

With these programs you can do just about any movie out there.
