This is not to start an argument, only to let you know about something that is highlighted to me. I am owner of a website that looks at all software packages that offer to protect personal computers from spyware/adware, virus ect... Whilst testing this software, it told me that you cookie is a possible risk of spyware/adware.
This is of course UNTRUE as the cookie is a simple website cookie, nothing more nothing less. It is however a way that this sofware looks at selling their item with giving a bad name is some ways to your excellent first class website.
As stated above, this is not to start an argument only to let you know about this issue. I can let you know the name of the software (should show on preview) through contact to myself. I have no intention of shaming this software, only to highlight an error.
My website does not seem to appear on this list which is another reason for why this has made me question this action.
I have attached a small flash video clip to show you the results found
This is a problem with being popular, variety of companies are starting to notice us and I've seen similar behaviour by few "privacy enhancement tools", which IMO, are just plain crap, not stating clearly what cookies are, what they do and what happens if you remove them (like, for instance, not being able to log in to our site..).
Another thing is that several ad blocking HOSTS files nowadays block our ad server. But.. I could talk for two weeks without a break about this issue as well, but can't be bothered now, just stating that our servers and bandwidth cost five figures per year :-)
But ye, thanks for brining this to our attention -- if you don't mind, Pm the name of the specific software and we can see whether we could persuade them to remove our cookies from their block list. Considering that we operate under Finnish laws and our country has probably the strictest privacy legislation in the world, its slightly silly to think that we could use the personal data in any other use other than providing users a method to login and to build anonymous user demographics in order to better understand what kind of users visit our site.
i noticed something abit odd.i dont know if its from this site or not but i read in another post that tribal fusion advertise on this site and i keep getting spyware tracking cookies from them.would that be from this site or somewhere else????????

At the risk of sounding repitious have a look at this link http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/288180 and DRD's comment in this link http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/280365 Casalemedia/blank.net are particularly annoying and a pain to get rid of depending on what route you take to get rid of them. Could this be a reason why AD's cookie is perceived as spyware as these annoying spyware pop-ups occur on logging in to this site. AD's cookie ought to be remote from the cookies of these Google advts and I don't quite understand it myself, but I thought I throw it out for some discussion or further thoughts.
