avi to dvd is it worth it or just go with vcd?

just got a first run movie of the net and it is in avi format i put it to vcd and it is real good and it did not take to long to do, but was wondering if i was to try to make it better by making it able to make a dvd of it . not sure if it would be a waste of time or not. i think it was a cam job , but it came out good. any input would be nice. thanks

You won't get any extra picture or sound qulaity, I use DVD's because i can never fit the mpeg on one cd. and for the convenience, DVD's are cheap now so I just put everything on dvd.

It actually Depends on your Source File....If your Source File is a Low resolution low Quality source File Like Most Cam Movies then you would be better off Makeing a VCD but if the Source File is a High Quality high Resolution file then you can expect Better quality useing one of the DVD standards....

You can also Make DVD"s at Many Different Resolutions and Qualities, You can even Put VCD"s on to DVD as the VCD Standard and the SIF/CIF DVD Standards are allmost exactly the same and this way you Can Fit over 6 Hours of Video on a DVD without the Playback Problems that come with Makeing VCD"s....
