Hello all. My friend gave me some DVDs with what he said are ripped PSP games. All he told me was to look for the .iso file of the game and copy it to my ISO folder in my memory stick. The only thing is, when I open a folder of a game that I want there is no .iso file only a folder named PSP_GAME that has a ton of files in it, and a UMD_DATA.BIN file. Would I be able to run anything off these files? Any help would be much appreciated.

Basically, the UMD_DATA.BIN file and the PSP_GAME folder are what appear on a UMD disc, so, to run them this is what you have to do;
1/ Pack the UMD_DATA.BIN and the PSP_GAME folder up into an ISO file (use UMDGen - download at http://www.umdgen.com)
2/ Run the ISO file using something like UMD Emulator 0.8c (download at http://www.psp-tribe.com/downloads.php?action=file&id=90), as you would with any other ISO file.

Heres how to rebuild the iso;
1. Open up UMDGen and go to File > New Compilation
2. Move PSP_GAME and UMD_DATA.BIN to UMDGen
3. Then File > Save as.. > Uncompressed (*.iso)
4. Name it whatever the you want then it will build the iso
5. Try it out to see if it worked

It is not rar file you have. It is your WinRAR is set by defauld to open ISO files therefore your iso file has a WinRAR icon. Just go to control panel > folder options > view and uncheck "Hide extension for known file types" checkbox. Than you will see all the extentions with the file names and your what you call rar file will have an ISO extention wich means it is in iso file. You just copy it to you iso folder in your cuctom firmwared psp and enjoy it.

1. You would HAVE to downgrade and get on a custom firmware to play your downloaded game.Read up on some posts on how to get started its really easy.
2. Once you got a OE or M33 firmware just open UMD Gen. Drag and drop both data.bin and PSP Game files in UMD Gen then i think you press control C and it will ask you the compression value just always pick 9. Then it will compress it and you can then drag it into the ISO folder on your PSP and play.
