Modded PS2 and gamespy?

I have a modded PS2 with a DMS4 Pro chip. I have a store bought copy of Smackdown vs. RAW 2006 and I disable the modchip but once it gets by the DNAS check it wants to login to gamespy it just sits there and says there is a network error. Is there anyway to logon to gamespy with a modded system or am I screwed?

i have no idea,have u disabled the chip to go online,i have a back up of the game and go online with no problems

Yea I disabled the chip and tried getting online. I put in my username and password and it just sits there and eventually timesout with Gamespy.

hmm,i know for a fact,the servers are really screwed on that game,plus online,has so many damn cheaters,i really dont like it anymore,i rather face the computer

infam0us, i disabled the chip and I still can't get by gamespy. I intentionally put in my password wrong and it said password incorrect. When I correctly put in my password it timesout... *sigh*. How are you able to login with a backup??

i have my back up patched,
i dont know whats wrong,maybe its ur chip

So I would just make a backup copy with the disc id patched and play it online with the modchip left enabled?

well you can make a back up for that,but ur chip will still be a problem,since its probably being detected online thats why u cant get on,what kind of modchip do u have,
any other way to diable it?

damn sorry,i really think its your chip,that isnt letting you,if u can barrow a friends game and see if u can go online to see if thats ur problem
