This is probably the first time that I have ever bought a PC game and played it on my computer. I hoped that there wouldn't be any problems; I was almost right. When the installation for the game completed, a summary came up and told me if I had all the requirements. I had the recommended stuff for everything except two things. They said my graphics card, an
Intel 82865G Graphics Controller, met the requirements, but was not recommended. Ok, I could deal with that. But on the bottom of the list, they said that I did not have a "Non-Windows Generic OpenGl 1.4.0 Drivers".I just forgot about it and started the game. No problems as I went through. Im 3 hours and 30 minutes or so into the game and I think I may now need "Non-Windows Generic OpenGl 1.4.0 Drivers". At a certain point in the game, the graphics get slow and choppy and the game ultimately crashes. I did a little research, and found that all I needed to do was update my drivers. I did that, followed all the instructions on the intel site. I went to back to check the requirments test, it still says I need the Opengl 1.4.0. I am lost now. Its really weird, because the game only starts screwing up when I go into this certain area. Everywhere else so far has been fine. I would like to continue playing this game because its been pretty good so far. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

you could avoid all those problems by getting a graphics card. it would improve gaming all round on your system and you wouldnt get any more open gl errors. basically your problem is the intel chipset graphics that your using. you can get a graphics card thats way better than that for less than youd think

Studio Comp: AMD Athlon XP 3200+ OC ~ 2.35GHz runs at 40 celcius idle and 48 under stress (aerocool GT1000 really works!), Asrock K7VT4A , 1024MB Dual Channel DDR 400, MSI Nvidia FX5200 128MB OC ~ 600MHz mem 350MHz core,80GB SATA + 200GB SATA + 120GB IDE, 7.1 Channel Soundblaster Audigy 2 Platinum EX sound and midi interface. 19" Sony SDM-HS95 TFT monitor - sweeet
Comp2: AMD Sempron 2400+ OC ~ 2.0GHz (Stable), Asrock K7S41GX, 512MB DDR 333, Onboard Graphics, 40GB Maxtor IDE

set of monitors on the way soon :P
Google is your friend...
WorkComp: LAPTOP, intel celeron D 2.4GHz, 256MB DDR, 20GB hd. NO SCREEN IT WAS SAWN OFF :S (bag of crap)

SypherTek is right the only way to solve your problem is to buy a new GPU (Graphics Processing Unit the same as Graphics card).

It looks like you do not have a card fitted, just onboard graphics. I love the Intel Extreme Graphics system. The only thing Extreme is that it is extremely s**t. If you think you will get it to run a modern game well. then you are just kidding yourself.

You need to get a decent card. Spend at least $300 and you should be OK.
I like Nvidia chipsets as the driver support is far superior to ATi catalyst drivers.
You really need a gig of RAm & a half decent processor also to compliment the card to get a game to run smoothly & on its' high settings. A good card will allow you to run at least a little Anti-aliasing & anisoptric filtering. You should really get a 6800GT, or if you can afford it, a 7800.
