flip lid - PS2 slim line - having problems with booting discs

I just installed a flip lid for the PS2 slim line. I am using the swap magic disks 3.6. I installed according to directions off the net. I am not having any problems with DVD games but when it comes to the cdr games, I am having problems. Some games will start to boot up but then stop. Some games I can play for awhile but then the the disc stops spinning. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this could be happening? I notice that after installing the lid that it does not fit nice and snug to the console. I actually had to use a small clamp so that it would have a tighter fit. Before I put the clamp on every time that I would go to swap the boot disc with the backup I would get the message "please install disc with a bigger TOC table" Is there something that I did incorrectly when I installed the lid?

The lid is definitely not installed properly, when the swap magic says "please install disc with a bigger TOC table" it means the sensor is not pressed down, so open it up and do it all again precisely.
