hi all, I am new to this forum as a poster... but I have been reading this for over a month until I recently got my Sony DW-U10A with 1.1a firmware

Using RecordNow MAX 4.5, I created a *.gi file from one of my PS2 game.

Then I use "test" to test the burning w/ Princo DVD-R 1X (white/silver) media, for 3 discs in a row.. I got the following error

for all 3 disc... at around 75-80%, I always got an error like this ..

"Error 10 at sector 2084384 - Disc Write Error - Command 2A Sense 03 ASC0C ASCQ:08"

Now, I then use the Ritek 4X that comes w/ the DW-U10A and the burning was A okay and the copy was read by my PS2 alright...

So.. I wonder why.....

I have read that Sony DRU-500A used to have problem w/ Princo but ppl also reported that w/ firmware 1.0f, DRU-500A works fine w/ Princo

I wonder should I change my DW-U10A 1.1a to DRU-500A 1.0g ? .. will that allow me to use Princo ? or I better off stay w/ 1.1a (DW-U10A) and stay w/ Ritek ?

I have never used princo, but I've heard dreadful stories about them..I dont think your burner is the problem..but before you change your firmware try some other brands...ritek is good or optodisc, verbatim, pionner, etc...if you can afford them...also maybe try another dvd burn program such as prassi primo, or nero...work well 4 ps2 backups. I used 2 get an error when I did a test before record, so I dont test anymore go right into a burn. No problems up to date. hope this helps

so you used to have error w/ Princo if you do "Test Before Record "...

and you don't have the error if you just do the "record" ?

BTW: I changed my DW-U10A firmware to DRU-500A 2.0e .. and I still have problem when "TESTING" w/ Princo....

one more thing you can do is, check your job memory cache..maybe try raising it, and see if that helps...I had burn problems at 512, raised it to 2048(75 mb) and no problems...should be in the options folder of the burning program

oh ok .. thx..... I will try that...

..maybe THAT is why all my 3 princo error out at around 75-80% !! .. maybe that is when the cache ran out !!

(But that didn't happen for Ritek)
