Hello,

Im having some weird problems with my v7 ps2. I started hearing really loud buzzing noises while playing madden2006 towards the end of a game. It would buzz like crazy then freeze. So I opened it up once, tried the qtip/alcohol trick on the lens and it worked perfectly for two weeks. Then the buzzing came back. So I decided to do the qtip trick again, but this time, the buzzing happens immediately when i turn on the system and press eject..and then it wont load madden2006, continuing with the buzzing.

But, if I put in any non EA sports game, it loads perfectly fine and plays. Then if I put in Madden afterwards, itll boot fine, but ill be in the middle of a game, the buzzing comes back and freezes my game. Its starting to get really annoying.

Im 100% sure its not the Disc because the buzzing happens even when there is no disc, like i mentioned above. Ive also tried greasing the worm gear, still no luck. I really need advice, should I try adjusting the height of the lens? or should i buy a new lens altogether? Any advice would be great.

btw, im using a non modded ps2. Thanks!

it cant be the laser can it? i can go on playing the mini games of madden2006 or any other game for hours, and nothing happens, but everyonce in a while, the laser makes a buzzing noise only during the middle of an exhibition match. lately it also has been making the noise when booting games. i dont get it.
