I just got a dvd r here and tried to use shrink but for some reasoon when I tried to back up or even re-edit a movie I keep getting this error here any ideas ??

DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.

Failed to read finle E:\

That's the classic crc error. It means there are bad sectors on that dvd you are trying to rip. When you rip it and hit that bad sector,it'll keep trying to get through(cycling) it but can't.It'll then crc error out on you.

If it's a newer release,then most likely encryption related or bum press.

If it's an older release,usually dirty disc/scratches/or a bum press.

If it's a backup copy you are trying to rip,then probably burned too fast/crappy media/or combo of both.Too many errors on that backup copy!

What's the name of that dvd you are trying to backup?

Edit: Is that an original dvd or a backup copy that you are trying to rip?
