Mr.Platinum 48x 80min 25-spindle CDRSB-80

ATIP: 97m 15s 37f
Disc Manufacturer: NAN-YA Plastics Corp.
Reflective layer: Dye (Short strategy; e.g. Phthalocyanine)
Media type: CD-Recordable
Recording Speeds: min. unknown - max. unknown
nominal Capacity: 702.83MB (79m 59s 74f / LBA: 359849)

Well, here's a new one for a change "NAN-YA". Sold in Finland for a rock botton 15.50e/25 spindle at the PC SuperStore.

Very silver-ish bottom, some coating on the top. Overall look & feel is good. I found one comment on this forum about NAN-YA stating out that these would be good quality. I burned one audio at 16x (Yammie F1) and made a very quick test and it was Ok.

I burned a VideoCD at 8x and it played all right, but it *seemed* that my Philips DVD-952 had a little trouble slowing down from Fast Forward to 1x playback (frozen picture, recovered by fast forwarding more and slowing down again to 1x)Speed change of the Philips is not perfect, but on the other hand it has shown good media compatibility. But there is *very* little science in this test, as I am not yet very familiar with the 952 and it's performance as I just bought it.

Comments wanted. Looks like a fair deal for us Finns, or is it?

The old school is back. All hail the new http://BitBurners.com !

Nono..

Testings with a car audio player and a Sony DVD player (305 or something like that) showed that NAN-YA has a lower performance than the high quality discs I usually use (Ritek, TY, Mitsubishi). Car player showed skipping and jamming, and the DVD player showed skipping video.

NAN-YA is approved by Yamaha in their firmware updates and I am using latest ware - odd. I also burned at low speed (8-16x), not at max 44x.
