I've notice that when I make a backup and it skips or pauses It seems there's a problem with the disc. When I turn the disc over I see what looks to be ink runs. Do these runs be already on the disc when you purchase them or do they come after the burn.If it comes after the burn how do you prevent this from happening. Thanks for the help!!!

What brand of disc are you using?. If you read some threads you'll find that Memorex discs cause the most problems because of poor quality dye used in their processing, I suggest you try Verbatim or TaiyoYuden and burn at a slow speed , around 4x.

I use Verbatim. So the disc can be good in the beginning then mess up after the burn?

I use Verbatim discs myself and have never struck this problem so I cannot offer any further explanation.

That's a new one for verbatim. I use them also with no problems. As Gwendolin suggested slow the burn down. What speed were your burning at? I have seen discs burned at max speed have what I call a halo effect meaning you can see varying circles of different colors.
What's the manufacturer id on these?
