hi guy's i'm new here i tried to do a search but couldn't find what i was looking for! now here is the problem i have 1 movie w/ 2 files: cd1 and cd2 both files before doing anything to them work fine audio is right on time! now the only program i know of that can merge two .avi files to one is Cucusoft AVI to DVD converter pro, so i put both files in there and convert to mpeg2, or dvd, or whatever i've tried them all. after 4-6 freakin hours come to find out that the audio starts a half hour into the movie, what can do this? and why? i saw someone talking about Virtualdub and converting the audio from vbr to something else but i will still have 2 seperate files. is there a way to combined the two files and convert them after their combined? or is there any known reason of why the audio isn't synced right? the movie files are xvid if that helps but if anyone knows the answer please help me out here! thanks in advance!

Download Virtualdubmod.

1.Open the 1st half of the movie (in virtualdubmod).

2.Drag the scroll bar(near the bottom)as far to the right as possible (check by pressing the right arrow key).

3.File --> Append Segment / and select the second half of the movie.

4.Video --> make sure "direct stream copy" is selected or it will take ages.

5.File --> Save as AVI / save the movie what you want to call it.

This should make it easier to convert. If you need more help from this step onward there are sh#tloads of guides, check them out.

your going to have to demux the audio streams and re-encode them from cbr to vbr.

In virtualdub go streams --> stream list
select the audio stream then click "demux", then save as *.mp3
Use belight or another tool to transcode the audio to mp2 or ac3 or watever, making sure the sampling rate is 48000hz.

Then multiplex using tmpgenc: File --> Mpeg Tools --> Multiplex tab.

Do this for both avi files then try joining them.

Good luck
